Thus, moonlight is never considered daylight, despite being . Daytime is the period of time each day when daylight occurs. Daylight happens because the Earth rotates and either side the sun shines on is considered daylight. Definition. For an explanation of why it is not exactly half, see here). However, the outdoor illuminance can vary from 1. It may be darker under unusual circumstances such as a solar eclipse or very high levels of atmospheric smoke (See New England's Dark Day), dust. This type of lighting is chosen to save energy, to avoid hypothesized adverse health effects of over- illumination by artificial light, and also for aesthetics. The amount of daylight received into an indoor space or room is defined as a daylight factor, being the ratio between the measured internal and external light levels. Artificial lighting energy use can be reduced by simply installing fewer electric lights because daylight is present, or by dimming/switching electric lights automatically in response to the presence of daylight, a process known as daylight harvesting. In recent years, work has taken place to recreate the effects of daylight artificially. This is however expensive in terms of both equipment and energy consumption and is applied almost exclusively in specialist areas such as filmmaking, where light of such intensity is required anyway. In some filmmaking locations, such as Sweden, there is too much light due to long summer days. As a result, in location films like Marianne, night scenes have to be shot during the daylight hours and digitally altered later. Zephyrus : Summer vs. Winter: Which is Better? ![]() The case for cold: Cold weather is much cooler (pun intended) than hot weather. First, let’s discuss sports. Maybe you can play more sports in the summer, but you can play almost all of those sports in the winter. Just throw on a sweater or play indoors if you can’t handle the cold. You can’t play most winter sports during the summer, though. Have you ever gone skiing in July? ![]()
And after all, winter is the prime time for hockey season, Edina’s strong suit. Drinking hot chocolate is a great treat in the cold winter months. Holding a warm mug when it’s cold outside is the epitome of comfort. In addition to that, when it’s cold out, it’s an amazing opportunity to use the your- hand- looks- cold- want- me- to- warm it maneuver on a certain someone. You can also have the best conversations with people during the winter because there’s not much to look at except sexy Christmas sweaters and the other person’s face! During the summer you can see much more of stuff that you may or may not want to see, like skin, hair, and toenails. It’s also harder to maintain a conversation because of all that pent- up contempt you have for people more tan than you. Okay, I do admit that winter is a season mostly dominated by school whereas summer is a season without school, but why is that bad? There are good parts of school, like being able to see your friends at least five times a week, and school makes the weekends and breaks just that much sweeter and more valuable. Also during the winter, there are some very fun school organized events: dances. Although many people don’t attend, they’re great opportunities to relax, have a good time with your friends, and forget the stress of school. Finally, winter trumps summer because we’re happy to see the season pass. It lasts so long and makes you question your sanity. When it finally leaves, everyone is relieved. When summer ends, on the other hand, everyone is sad and regrets all the things they didn’t accomplish that year. It's before archery, falconry, and Merlin were a part of my life and I was. Nuclear winter is the severe global-climatic-cooling-effect, hypothesized to occur after the ignition of a number of firestorms. Such fires, which can inject soot. Snow is coming down, but. Before the onset of cold weather, protect your pipes from freezing by following these recommendations: Drain water from swimming pool and water sprinkler supply lines. Summer sets you up for disappointment, while winter sets you up for so much more. The case for hot: I’m going to start things off with one simple fact: there is no school during summer. Summer is a time to be free from the stress of homework and tests, and to relax and pursue your interests and hobbies, whether they be hanging out with friends, exercising, or exploring. Another reason why summer reigns supreme in my mind is the fact that it’s warm. You could go swimming at the beach, watch a Twins game, enjoy a picnic with family or friends – the possibilities are endless. Summer is just a time to have fun. And there are a plethora of sports and activities to do: baseball/softball, soccer, golf, frisbee golf, basketball, and so forth. Just about the only sport you can’t play outside would be hockey, but even then, there are indoor rinks open in the summer. And some fall sports even start in the summer, like Football, Girls’ Swimming and Diving, Cross Country, and Girls’ Tennis. Summer is a time of good feelings to compensate for the gloom of a cold, gray winter. Especially near the end of winter, when all the snow on the sides of the road is blackened and slushy (it’s simply disgusting). If you prefer the cold sting of the February air over the warmth of the July sun, I pray for your sanity. The Cold Winter PoemIn the wintertime, people are forced to drive everywhere in their freezing cold cars and traverse the icy, dangerous roads. On the other hand, summer allows people to drive on safer surfaces, or walk or bike places while maintaining warmth and comfort. Personally, I enjoy biking, but everyone has their preference, from scootering to heelying. The possibilities for a good time are seemingly endless when summer comes around – there’s so much to do and so many people to see. Suffolk - Wikipedia. Researchers Say 4 Cups A Day Does The Deed. Researchers at the Preventative and Clinical Investigations Center in Paris, France observed the blood pressure of almost 2. The findings revealed that those who avoided coffee and tea consumption all together had the highest rates of blood pressure, pulse pressure, and heart rate. And, those who drank tea the most often had the best health reports. Even coffee drinkers fared better than those who didn't drink coffee at all. The participants were divided into three groups; those who abstained from coffee and tea completely, those who drank between one and four cups a day, and then those who drank more than four cups. The results ran counter to most medical advice, such as that of the National Health Services, which recommends people with high blood pressure to cut down their caffeine intake. You would have to drink three cups of chai tea to achieve the same amount of caffeine you get in a single cup of coffee. And this ratio increases to 5:1 or 6:1 when. Decaffeinated coffee, on the other hand, usually. The results also revealed heavy tea drinkers benefited the most and had the lowest systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings, as well as the lowest pulse pressure and heart rate. Diastolic blood pressure is exerted on the walls of arteries around the body and in between heartbeats when the heart is relaxed, while systolic blood pressure is the pressure exerted when the heart is beating. ![]() ![]() Researchers think the flavonoids found in tea could help relax blood vessels, which ultimately decreases blood pressure and calms the nervous system. The authors of the study say the findings are scientifically significant; however, people with high blood pressure shouldn't start downing six cups a day in hopes of a natural medication. The difference between those who drank a moderate one to four cups and those who drank more was slim. Nevertheless, if you're choosing between coffee or tea, there isn't a large margin; those who drank large quantities of coffee every day only had slightly higher blood pressure reading than tea drinkers. The debate on whether or not caffeine consumption is actually good for you continues. Caffeine is most commonly consumed in coffee and tea form and is a natural stimulant found in nuts, berries, and even leaves. Because of its prevalence across most cultures, a lot of research has been done of the effects of regular consumption and overconsumption.
By definition, a stimulant increases the activity of the central nervous system, making you feel more alert, focused, and awake. The increased activity can cause blood vessels to constrict and increase blood pressure, which is most dangerous when consumed in the form of cocaine and methamphetamines. Caffeine itself is a self- limiting stimulant, which means it controls the rate of its own excretion through the kidneys. However, the caffeine found in coffee is only a mild stimulant and has a very short lifespan in the body. The Joint National Committee on Hypertension has stated that there is no evidence linking coffee or tea to high blood pressure. ![]() Coffee and tea have shown other benefits from past studies, such as their polyphenols' ability to lower the level of activated platelets in the blood, which can prevent the blood clots that lead to stroke. Polyphenols are a type of antioxidant that also lowers the body's concentration of C- reactive proteins (CRP), which play a key role in inflammation, thus decreasing the risk of cardiovascular and kidney disease. Dr. Bruno Pannier from the Preventative and Clinical Investigations Center presented the study's findings to the European Society of Hypertension in Milan and said more research needs to be done to explain the pros and cons of tea and coffee drinking. Pannier also made clear that the study made no distinction between black tea, herbal tea, and green tea — each with different effects according to previous studies. |
